Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Zscheile is a renowned expert in wood processing and bioeconomy, with over 40 years of experience in the field. He holds a PhD in Automation Strategies for Cutting Processes from the Technical University of Dresden and has led numerous initiatives in wood technology, process optimization, and bioeconomy development.
Currently a professor at the University of Applied Sciences in Rosenheim, Prof. Zscheile also heads the Innovation Hub "Future Wood + Climate" in Saxonia-Anhalt. He is the founder of Ingenieurbüro OptiWood, a consultancy focused on wood industry engineering solutions, and has held leadership roles in companies across Germany, the USA, France, and Luxembourg.
Prof. Zscheile is actively involved in advancing the global bioeconomy as a board member of BioEconomy e.V. and Director of Membership at the World BioEconomy Association. His extensive expertise and leadership continue to shape innovations in sustainable wood technology and bioeconomy strategies worldwide.
