Bioproducts are products derived wholly or partly from renewable biological resources. They include both traditional and emerging products, ranging from food, feed, wood products, paper, textiles and construction materials to chemicals, pharmaceuticals, personal care products, renewable fuels, advanced biomaterials and products made from side streams and waste streams.
Many people associate bioproducts only with replacing fossil-based products. While this is an important role, bioproducts contribute in many other ways as well. They can improve product performance, enhance production processes, support circular solutions, create value from side streams and waste, contribute to health and well-being, and help build more sustainable value chains.
A key message of World Bioproduct Day is simple:
Bioproducts are everywhere – often without us even noticing.
Every one of us uses bioproducts every day. From the food we eat and the paper we use to the textiles we wear, the medicines we rely on and the materials that make up our homes and workplaces, bioproducts are already an essential part of modern life.
World Bioproduct Day celebrates the diversity of bioproducts and the people, organisations and innovations behind them. It is a day to recognise how renewable biological resources are transformed into products that create value for people, business and the planet.
We invite individuals, companies, researchers, schools, cities, organisations and communities around the world to participate.
Share a bioproduct that inspires you and tell us:

Together, we can make the invisible visible and increase awareness of the many bioproducts that contribute to our everyday lives and a more sustainable future.
Join us on 7 July and celebrate the many faces of bioproducts.
