Propose a Future World BioEconomy Forum
The World BioEconomy Forum (WBEF) is the flagship event of the World Bioeconomy Association (WBA) and a truly global platform for advancing the circular and holistic bioeconomy. We invite cities, regions, universities, development agencies, and industry clusters to collaborate with us in hosting a future edition of the Forum — or, for a more targeted engagement, a World BioEconomy Roundtable.
Why host?
A comprehensive event based on the Four-Pillar Structure
The World BioEconomy Forum is uniquely designed around the Four-Pillar Structure — The Bioeconomy: People, Planet, Policies; Corporate Leaders and the Financial World; Bioproducts Around Us; and Looking to the Future— providing a complete and interconnected perspective on the transition toward a sustainable, bio-based economy.

Each Forum is structured within this framework, ensuring a holistic and balanced programme that reflects the bioeconomy’s full value chain — from citizen engagement and enabling policy, to industrial innovation and forward-looking research. This approach guarantees that every edition of the Forum offers a comprehensive view of the global bioeconomy’s evolution and opportunities.
Roundtables – focused, smaller-scale dialogues
In addition to the full Forum, WBA also organises World BioEconomy Roundtables — smaller, high-level meetings that explore one Pillar at a time (for example, The Bioeconomy: People, Planet, Policies).
These are ideal for regions or organisations wishing to host a focused discussion within the global bioeconomy framework. Roundtables can also serve as stepping stones toward hosting a future Forum.
The holistic concept of the bioeconomy
The World Bioeconomy Association promotes a holistic understanding of the bioeconomy, encompassing environmental, economic, and social dimensions. It goes beyond biomass transformation to include sustainable resource management, circularity, innovation, and inclusive development.

Host partnership and format
The Forum typically spans 2–3 days, featuring high-level plenaries, thematic sessions, industry showcases, investment dialogues, and site visits.
Roundtables, by contrast, are one-day or half-day events, lighter in logistics yet highly impactful, and can be arranged flexibly in cooperation with interested hosts.
