The World Bioeconomy Forum is a strategic platform for advancing the global bioeconomy dialogue. Founded in 2018, it has brought together global leaders, policymakers, businesses, and academics from around the world to share knowledge, drive innovation, and promote bio-based solutions.
Today, the World Bioeconomy Forum operates under the umbrella of the World Bioeconomy Association and continues to be available for high-level events that align with the Association's mission.

Since its inception in 2018, the World Bioeconomy Forum has delivered landmark events that shaped discourse on the global circular bioeconomy. These events have influenced policy, forged new partnerships, and provided strategic insights to the global bioeconomy community.
Key Forum input provided to the G20 under the theme “Financing a Sustainable Global Bioeconomy,” with a supporting report published.
“Creating a Global Hub for the Bioeconomy” was hosted at the Finnish Embassy, attracting 40 expert speakers and launching forum awards.
With the theme “Forum talks on climate,” the event included the first-ever UNFCCC COP27 bioeconomy session in the Blue Zone.
Held in the Amazon region, this was the first event outside Finland and culminated in Pará State’s first bioeconomy strategy declaration.
Hosted entirely online due to COVID-19, attracting 400+ participants globally; thematic panels included post-pandemic recovery, climate, and bioproducts.
The World Bioeconomy Forum continues as an active and recognised platform for future high-level events and strategic dialogue. While its operations are now fully integrated within the World Bioeconomy Association, the Forum remains available to support the Association’s mission when appropriate.
