Dr. Amol Uttam Hivrale is an accomplished biotechnology professional with more than 17 years of experience in industrial biotechnology, microbial fermentation, sustainable chemicals, biosurfactants, enzymes, agricultural biologicals, nutraceuticals, and bio-based product commercialization. He has successfully bridged research, product development, manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and business strategy to deliver commercially successful biotechnology solutions.
Currently serving as Head- Biotech at Rossari Biotech Ltd., he leads biotechnology research, product innovation, commercialization, and business development. His work focuses on developing next-generation sustainable products for agriculture, personal care, home care, healthcare, enhanced oil recovery, and industrial applications. He has established new R&D and production facilities and successfully commercialized biosurfactants, including sophorolipids and enzymatic specialty ingredients.
Before joining Rossari Biotech, Dr. Hivrale held leadership positions at Godrej Industries Ltd., Netsurf Communication Pvt. Ltd., Praj Industries Ltd., and other biotechnology organizations. Throughout his career, he has led multidisciplinary teams, established biotechnology laboratories and pilot plants, managed technology transfer from laboratory to commercial manufacturing, and developed numerous innovative bio-based products across multiple industries.
His technical expertise spans industrial fermentation, microbial metabolite production, biosurfactants, probiotics, biofertilizers, biopesticides, enzymes, formulation development, scale-up, quality systems, regulatory affairs (REACH, USFDA, COSMOS, OMRI, ECOCERT, FSSAI), and techno-commercial business development. He has played a key role in bringing several biotechnology products from concept to market while supporting strategic business growth.
Dr. Hivrale earned his Ph.D. in Biotechnology from North Maharashtra University, where his doctoral research focused on the proteins and enzymes. He was awarded the prestigious Swedish Institute Fellowship at Uppsala University, Sweden, where he conducted advanced research in protein purification, proteomics, and structural biology.
His scholarly contributions include 5 patents, 11 research publications, 7 conference abstracts, and over 20 invited lectures, presentations, workshops, and seminars, reflecting his commitment to scientific innovation and knowledge dissemination.
